Speedy cars have always been in the limelight for all the right reasons, and time and again, they have succeeded in catching their due share of publicity. The 350Z, a sports car belonging to the large family of Nissan, is undoubtedly one such vehicle which has been in production since 1970.
This 5th generation double door, double seater Z-car (2002) is capable of giving a mind-blowing performance, thanks to its front engine and rear wheel configuration. The 3.5 litre 24 valve overhead cam V6 engine has a capacity to bring out an astronomical 306hp and 268lb torque. The six-speed manual transmission directs this enormous power to the rear wheels of this car by means of the meticulous gear box which results in an enviable and speedy drive that most of us would die for. The four-disc brakes found in individual wheels are of high quality and the 350Z is equipped with additional safety features like ABS (anti-lock braking system), and electronic brake force distribution system, that helps the driver to maintain the control of the vehicle even at adverse circumstances.
The upgraded Nissan 350Z with the Nismo badge that will be available from 2008 onwards is some sports car to look forward to. The 3.5 litre V6 engine of this new version introduces a dual intake system, which increases its performance significantly. The Variable Valve Timing System leads to an increase in fuel efficiency, which was a problematic area in the older models.
