The Toyota Lucida, commonly known as the Previa or Estima, falls under the category of a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and has been in production since 1990. The first generation version with its rather curvy looks was extremely popular with regard to its spacious interior cabin that imparted a comfortable fit, stunning interior works with its elaborate dashboard equipments, not to mention a shipshape body.

Available in both rear wheel and all wheel drives, the first generation of the Previa had a 2.4 litre, 135 hp 4-cylinder fuel injection engine with a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic gear assembly. This saw a slight alteration in its 2000 model, which introduced both petrol and diesel engines in the European market. The petrol engine was powered by a 2.4 litre 2AZ-FE of 156 hp, while the diesel engine had a 2.0 litre 1CD-FTV with 116 hp. A third generation of this vehicle was introduced in the Australian and Japanese markets in 2006, which features a Hybrid Synergy drive.
